Big Slick Boot Camp Home, 2012

December 11, 2012

This page belongs to our Boot Camp desk, and it is written to be read once and used twice: first to decide, then to check. Where two sources disagree, the stricter reading is the one kept here. Where a claim could not be traced back to a named source, it was left out instead of rounded off, because a missing line costs a reader far less than a confident one that turns out to be wrong.

How much has to sit behind one buy-in

Our own convention, not a law of the game: the multiplier is the number of buy-ins we think a format needs before variance stops being the deciding factor. Treat the multiplier as judgement and the arithmetic as arithmetic.

Reserve we would want behind a buy-in
Format	Buy-in $1	Buy-in $5	Buy-in $25	Buy-in $100
Cash game ×30	$30	$150	$750	$3,000
Sit-and-go ×50	$50	$250	$1,250	$5,000
Multi-table tournament ×100	$100	$500	$2,500	$10,000

Multipliers are this desk's own; the reasoning behind sizing a stake to a bankroll is in Bankroll.
