Little River Casino Resort Hits the Gas on Latest Expansion

01 October 2026

A 2021 report highlights this resort as one of the top in northern Michigan. The renovations answered a lot of questions for Clark Construction.

Little River Casino Resort in Manistee, operated by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, has expanded the scope of improvements planned for 2026. This property is known for refreshing its gaming floor and guest amenities.

Opened in 1999, the resort previously expanded in 2007 and 2015. Now the property is focusing on 2026 upgrades designed to enhance guest experience and gaming environment. According to officials, the resort's main gaming-floor renovation is about 75% complete. Changes include updated décor, better lighting, an upgraded sound system and a new smoking gaming area expected to open in early 2026. A 2020 partnership with Rush Street Interactive provides the resort's retail sportsbook services and gave the company access to Michigan's online market.

The tribe also pursued a $180 million second gaming facility in Muskegon County, seeking to expand its regional presence. That proposed project in Fruitport Township has stalled. The Muskegon plans demonstrate how this tribe aims to grow its gaming operations beyond Manistee and across Michigan.
